No two individuals affected by the illness, and no two caregivers experience Alzheimer's disease in the same way. People with the disease can maximize their ability to function in daily life with drug treatments and adjustments to daily routines. Family caregivers can find support and information to help them cope. As time goes on, the need for care assistance increases, as does the burden on caregivers.

This section provides family and friends with information on care strategies for Alzheimer's symptoms. Because of the disease's unpredictable course, there is no way to predict what your role as caregiver will involve. Responsibilities can include making important legal decisions, managing changes in the person's behavior, and helping him or her remain safe.
