Page outline

The New York City Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association offers many Support Groups at a variety of times in different community settings at no charge to the participant. The groups offered fall into three categories: Family Support Groups, Grief and Bereavement Groups, and Groups for people in the Early Stages of Alzheimer's.

Prior to joining a support group, it is recommended that the person attend an Orientation meeting. For more information about the Orientation meetings and other educational meetings offered by the New York City Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association, click here or call the New York City Chapter Helpline at 800.272.3900.

If the person needs help in selecting a Support Group, have them contact Wendy Panken at the New York City Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association by clicking here or by phone at 646.744.2917.

It is essential that the person make contact with the group leader before they attend.  A personal interview with the support group leader is usually required.
