Dementia Home Care Training Graduations

A Reason to Celebrate!

Congratulations to the June 22, 2007 Graduates of the Dementia Care Specialist Training. The following are excerpts from the graduation remarks as gathered by Patricia Henry.

One classmate stated: “The program showed us a simple way to approach a very difficult task . . . coping with patients who need so much.”

Another said: “We all found that the meditation training was important. It helped us to relax and be more patient with our clients. Meditation helps us cope in our personal lives. It is so difficult to put the stress and the struggles of our jobs behind us when we go home.”

“One class was especially important for us. The daughter of a woman with Alzheimer’s disease came and shared her story. Her presentation was so heartfelt. She helped us to understand what the families go through and taught us that we don’t just have to assist the person with the disease, but the family members too.”
