Goldman, Sachs & Co. 2007 Community TeamWorks (CTW)

On June 15th, Goldman Sachs & Co.’s Charitable Services Group organized, sponsored and participated in a “No-Cook Cooking” demonstration and lunch with our early-stage support group and MemoryWorks groups at the NYC Chapter office.

Thirteen Goldman, Sachs & Co. employees generously gave of their time, energy and efforts to prepare and provide a delicious three-course meal that required no cooking — a task that can present many challenges for people who have been diagnosed with early dementia. The “No-Cook Cooking” demonstration and accompanying simple recipes afforded our early-stage support group and MemoryWorks group members a way to make a great meal quickly and easily. It was also an opportunity for Volunteers and group members to share and learn about each other while savoring the culinary artistry of Goldman, Sachs & Co. Chef Phil Cammarota.

Alzheimer’s Awareness Day at Shea — New York Mets vs. St. Louis Cardinals

On June 26th, nine Volunteers, two Interns, and six Staff members gathered at Shea Stadium with Chapter brochures and newsletters in hand to offer information and resources about AD and other dementias to NY Mets and St. Louis Cardinals fans. On a fun-filled, steamy New York evening at an exciting, hot dog eating, cold beer drinking ball game, we brought community awareness on a grand scale about the NYC Chapter and Alzheimer’s disease — the major health crisis of the 21st century.
