The Junior Committee settled into summer after
happily allocating its 2007 earnings to the
Chapter’s Speakers Bureau program, which aims to
raise awareness about Alzheimer’s disease and the
Chapter’s programs and services throughout the 5
boroughs of New York City. At the same meeting, the
JC was thrilled to elect a new Secretary, Kim Rossi.
In late June, the JC gathered for the Chapter’s 3rd
annual Alzheimer’s Awareness Day at Shea. We cheered
for the Mets into the 11th inning, and though they lost,
we all had a great time and made some new friends.
Going into the fall, the JC is pleased to announce
that Jessica Levine will be our Memory Walk chair,
and is leader of the Junior Committee’s team. If you
are interested in walking with us, please visit our team
site by clicking on the link at our Web site,
www.alznycjc.org.
Finally, we hope that all young supporters of our
cause will come out and support our Fall cocktail
event, the 2nd Annual Hudson Hullabaloo, scheduled
for Wednesday, October 3, from 7 until 10 pm at the
79th Street Boat Basin. Tickets are just $25 and include
two complimentary cocktails!
The Junior Committee meets on the second
Tuesday of each month at 6:45 pm at the NYC
Chapter office. For more information on what we do,
or to join our mailing list, visit www.alznycjc.org or
e-mail info@alznycjc.org.
