Have you noticed something different about our Newsletter? If so, we hope that you are pleased with our new look. Many of you have commented favorably. And a few have inquired intelligently, “as it gets more glossy and high-end, I am not sure who/how it gets paid for; is the organization spending monies in the right way?”

The Newsletter is a gateway to Chapter programs and services, to information and support. 50,000 copies are printed each issue, our Web site version receives hundreds of thousands of hits, and the e-News is sent to more than 15,000 people each quarter.

We continuously make efforts to keep costs down. The Newsletter undergoes a bidding process every year for the following 4 issues. We’ve changed from off-set printing to Web printing. In fact, the Newsletter costs us currently, at 64 pages, what it cost 2 years ago at 40 pages. And as for the glossy cover, the printer thought it would look great and contributed to that effort. In addition, our Development Department continues to reach out to corporations to underwrite a Newsletter issue.

We want to assure all of you that we are spending your money wisely.

Best wishes for a healthy and fun-filled summer. Please make plans to join us on Sunday, Oct. 26 for Memory Walk 2008! We will walk together to MOVE our City and a Nation to End Alzheimer’s!
