Thank you. Two powerful words. Two powerful words that make the difference in the quality of any exchange – whether offered after receiving change from your morning coffee or after contributing hundreds of hours of Volunteer service for a major event such as the NYC Chapter’s 18th Annual Memory Walk.

We are very grateful to the 233 Volunteers who made Memory Walk 2006 our most successful ever! Your generous Volunteer time, energy, good spirits, and gifts were warmly welcomed, gratefully accepted and fully recognized. What you have given is meaningful and has made a genuine difference in the lives of many. We truly could not have done this event without your help.

Memory Walk Volunteers went above and beyond to make 2006 a record-breaker on all counts - from the number of Volunteers and Walkers, to money raised, to public awareness of a disease that is growing by leaps and bounds as the baby boomer generation ages.

I am thrilled to report the following Memory Walk 2006 Volunteer statistics:

  • 233 Volunteers (203 volunteer day-of-event and 30 volunteers pre-event)
  • 1,100+ Hours of Volunteer Service
  • *$25,000+ Volunteer monetary Value of Service

A special shout out and kudos to students at NYU/ Stern School of Business, Hunter College, and Key Clubs of Stuyvesant High School, Midwood High School, and the High School of American Studies at Lehman College; our Volunteer Team Captains; and our Chapter Junior Committee, Women in Action Committee and staff.

We have many Volunteer opportunities throughout the year: 24-hour Helpline, Speakers Bureau, Health Fairs, Special Events, Office Volunteers, Student Internships, and more. If you’d like to volunteer, please contact me at 646-744-2928 or by e-mail at spartridge@alznyc.org. Thank you!
