On a balmy evening in early October, the Junior
Committee hosted one of its most successful
events ever. Nearly 100 young professionals headed
to the 79th Street Boat Basin for the second annual
Hudson Hullabaloo to toast the end of summer and
the work of the JC. This event raised over $2,000—
more than twice as much as last year’s event.
Increasing numbers of young people are becoming
aware of the growing crisis posed by Alzheimer’s and
they are getting involved in efforts to combat the
disease.
A few weeks later, the JC banded together again
for Memory Walk! Our team was over 40 members
strong and we substantially exceeded our fundraising
goals, coming in a close second in the team ranking.
After a brief hiatus, the Junior Committee has
decided to reinstate our advocacy program, and we
are pleased to announce that Hannah Major-Monfried will serve as our new Advocacy chair.
Hannah will be working with Ann Berson, Vice
President and Director of Public Policy, to support
the Chapter’s policy work and to develop the JC’s
policy agenda.
We are also forging partnerships with other Junior
Committees from across the nation. JC President
Meghann McKale has been participating in regular
conference calls with other JC leaders and exploring
exciting new ways that we can work together.
The Junior Committee meets on the second
Tuesday of each month at 6:45 pm at the NYC
Chapter office. For more information on what we
do, or to join our mailing list, please visit
