Thank you to everyone — walkers, sponsors, donors, volunteers — who helped make Memory Walk 2008 a tremendous success! Even with this uncertain economy, you, our loyal supporters raised over $920,000 (as of this writing) — and the event isn’t over yet! That’s incredible and we are truly grateful. Money raised at Memory Walk allows us to continue our vital programs and services, without charge, to our ever-growing community.

Please check with your employer if they offer a Matching Gift Program, which may double your donation. And if you have not yet contributed, our Memory Walk web site,
www.alznyc.org/memorywalk,
will remain open until December 31, 2008.

We look to 2009 with hope — a new President and Congress, thousands of scientists getting closer to a better understanding of the mysteries of Alzheimer’s disease — some with promising breakthroughs on the horizon — and a population that is demanding that this issue become front and center before it’s too late — for us and for generations to follow.

My best wishes for a peaceful and joyous holiday season,
