Comfort Zone Brings Families
Peace of Mind
A lzheimer’s Association
Comfort Zone™, powered
by Omnilink, is a
new comprehensive Web-based
location management service that
provides the entire family with
peace of mind while giving people
with Alzheimer’s the freedom and
independence they want. Family
members can have knowledge of
a person’s location, while individuals
with Alzheimer’s can enjoy
the emotional security of familiar
routines and surroundings.
Working with a tracking
device, such as a car-mounted
unit, pocket device or wrist-worn
device, Comfort Zone™ is a secure Web application that
allows family members to:
- Remotely monitor the location of the person with
Alzheimer’s.
- Set up safety zones.
- Receive alerts (via text or e-mail) when he or she has
traveled beyond a pre-set zone.
Among the benefits Comfort Zone™ provides:
- Choice — It works with a variety of devices and you
can choose the monthly plan that meets your needs.
- Monitoring Center — A 24/7 call center to help
with technical questions and location management in
the event you cannot access the Internet.
- Emergency Health Record — Included is an annual
membership for MedicAlert® + Alzheimer’s
Association Safe Return®, which provides 24-hour
emergency response service for wandering and medical
emergencies.

You may request more information about financial assistance — and assistance to all caregivers and professionals who would like
to enroll a person with dementia in the MedicAlert® + Safe Return® program — one of three ways: via telephone by calling 646-
744-2918 or 2920, online at or by calling and requesting an application be mailed to you. Enrollment forms are
available in English and Spanish.
This image illustrates the zones as
they would be seen on the map by a family. The
larger white circle represents the day zone while the
inner green zone is the smaller night zone. Both
of these zones are centered around the home of the
person with dementia. See the green labels for
additional services available.
The top left side of the screen
contains a profile on the person with dementia,
including a photo, a link to MedicAlert® +
Alzheimers Assocation Safe Return® account and
last known location. Below that on the left side
of the screen, alerts and notifications are shown.
Alerts remain open until it is manually closed by
the account user. Users can choose to only show
certain alerts (like a zone enter or exit, low battery, etc.) or only show alerts during a specific time
period (e.g. 10 pm until 7 am). The main window
shows the last known location or locations with an
option to “find” or initiate a “follow” session.
This feature allows family members to follow the
movements of a person with Alzheimer’s and see
the location as points on a map-display accessed via
the Comfort Zone application.

In the center of the screen, the red pins represent
recent locations of the person with Alzheimer’s.
These red pins show that approximately two
minutes after the person with Alzheimer’s was at
point 1 she arrived at point 2 and so on.
The top of the main window has three tabs
— “location” for the current view, “zones”
to establish and maintain zones, “settings” to
manage alerts, notification and users.
